USPTO Director’s Blog and Wordle

wordle-directorsblogs112514-080515For this data visualization, I used partially open source Wordle to create a word cloud data visualization. This was my first time using the tool and it really is friendly to beginners and simple to use.

I used the text from the USPTO’s Director’s Blog website from blogs dating from November 25, 2015 through August 6, 2015. The website contains only the 13 most recent posts but not older posts. To access the archival posts, you need to subscribe to the blogs here.

Wordle is a graphical representation of the frequency of words entered into it. For more details on how it works, see this great article.
